Turn Your Mourning Into Dancing

Today I invite us to mind our margin by spending some time doing something that we love to do, but can never find the time to do. Like dancing in the middle of the day….or singing in the shower or on the back porch….or reading just one chapter of that book you have been meaning to start….or turning off the TV and putting an aria from La Boheme on the stereo…..or sketching the snow on your neighbor's garage….or walking around Mount Auburn Cemetery or the Arnold Arboretum or the Crystal Lake or the block ….or writing a poem entitled "When I Was Young" or "When I get Old"….or calling your oldest high school friend….or whatever it is that might reconnect you with a joy that has been overtaken by the busyness and the routine of your daily life.

Today I invite us to make a bit of margin to re-member our passion for life!

Psalm 30

1 A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House; of David.
2 I will extol You, O LORD, for You have raised me up, and have not suffered my enemies to rejoice over me.
ג  יְהוָה אֱלֹהָי--    שִׁוַּעְתִּי אֵלֶיךָ, וַתִּרְפָּאֵנִי.3 O LORD my God, I cried unto You, and You healed me;
4 O LORD, You brought up my soul from the depths; You kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit.
5 Sing praise unto the LORD, O you godly ones, and give thanks to God's holy name.
6 For Yahweh's anger is but for a moment, His favour is for a life-time;
weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
7 Now I had said in my security: 'I shall never be moved.'
8 You have established, O LORD, in Your favour my mountain as a stronghold-- You hid Your face; I was frightened.
9 I called unto You, O LORD, and unto the LORD I made supplication:
10 'What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit?
Shall the dust praise You? shall it declare Your truth?
11 Hear, O LORD, and be gracious to me; LORD, be my helper.'
יב  הָפַכְתָּ מִסְפְּדִי, לְמָחוֹל לִי:    פִּתַּחְתָּ שַׂקִּי; וַתְּאַזְּרֵנִי שִׂמְחָה.12 You turned my mourning into dancing; You loosed my sackcloth, and gird me with gladness;
13 So that my glory may sing praise to You, and not be silent;
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You for ever.
